Heart Attacks and drinking warm water....

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks. This makes sense.. the
Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals...not cold water...maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!!

Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks: You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

Facing rejection...

Facing rejection can be a bit hard at time. But it does happen no matter where we are and what we do. We will some how face this kind of rejection and we must not forget to learn from it. No no, this rejection that i faced recently wasn't from any girl, but its from a client.

Well, I was suppose to do a presentation to my client to try to 'Win' the project, if they like our idea. But apparently to my client, we got back to them a bit slow, and they have to move faster. Thus, they have to pick someone already and he told us to stop working on the mock work. When he said "Sorry, we already decide on who we are giving the project to. Thanks anyway", this feeling really felt like seeing Donald Trump telling me 'You're fired'. Well, things already happened, time wasted on mocks and guess we just hv to move on then.

I must say, that it was a good experience working with 'stylish clients' who wants a certain kind of creativity added to their products. And being creative isn't my number 1 skill. :P
Oh well, this is something i must learn, when i speak to other person, i must speak their language in order to properly convince them and be able to be intune with their thoughts so that things can go smoothly. But I'm glad I get this experience.
Back to working harder and meeting more people!! Think positive!!

4 Things You Never Knew Your Handphone Could Do

Recently, i come across an interesting article on my email. Seems quite useful.
Enjoy...

4 THINGS YOU PROBABLY NEVER KNEW YOUR MOBILE PHONE COULD DO
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

FIRST: Emergency

The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND Have you locked your keys in the car?

Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to
drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a mobile phone!'

THIRD Hidden Battery Power

Imagine your mobile battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your mobile will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next time.

FOURTH How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone! : * # 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

Appointment after another appointment

Ok, time is really valuable. But it's not a good idea if you try to overuse it. I tried to make good use of it by putting 3 appointments together (back to back) in one day. Sigh, not a very wise choice....

First appointment was at PJ. Go there during the rush hour jam about 6pm, and got stucked in jam. Sigh, bad planning on that. Was late for it and guess what? the next appointment I was late as well. With the 2nd appointment late, my 3rd appointment was late as well. Argh big blunder. 2nd appointment was at Menara TM, rush there from PJ taking the federal highway. And my final appointment was at DU. PJ to Bangsar and back to PJ again.

In future, i must remind myself never to pack all my appointments in one day. Oh well, lucky all the people I meet is quite forgiving, (Well they look ok).

Being Sick...

Ok, over the pass few days, i was actually feeling abit sick. Argh, i don't like the feeling of being sick. All I could do was sleep and eat and sleep again. Feel so lousy about it.

Oh well, guess its fine if I'm better now. But, it struck me abit, if i'm sick for the whole year, then how? Shit, can't do anything for the whole year? Can be quite scary if you're really sick. Well, i leave that thought to you all. But i was stubborn to take panadol while having fever. But i gave in as my condition didn't improve and I felt worst.

Sigh, I know panadol is bad for me as i read it before this medicine stays in my system for a VERY LONG TIME. urgh, well i'm desperate to recover faster, and thus, i took it. Anyone have any suggestion in future if im feeling sick again with Fever and headache?

Well, I'm glad i was feeling much better after that, but wish I had a different solution then. hmm...something for me to ponder about....

A trip to Zoo Negara

Last Thursday was quite a fun day for me. Went to the ZOO NEGARA! Yay, well the thought that came to my mind was the KFC song that i used to hear when I was little. 'Lets go to the zoo la la la' :P thats all i could remember for the music lyrics.

The purpose of this trip is to take some deaf kids from YMCA to the Zoo. It's about to start their school holiday and thus, we're taking them out to have some fun. We arrived at the zoo at about 10am. It took us about 1 hour to drive to Zoo Negara! Wow i didn't know it was that long to drive there.

The first thing we did was going on this long transporter for us all to ride all around the zoo so we could get a first grasp of the whole place before we start walking around. On this day too, we saw a lot of kids from other kindergarten visiting the zoo as well. There's about 3-4 groups from different kindergarten visiting the zoo today. Quite pack!!

Next thing we did was going for the animal show, but I didn't manage to take much picture cause I was busy interpreting a bit. Good time for me to practice my signing.
After the show, we head for lunch, and I was thinking of having KFC! Lol too bad we didn't see any KFC around, just some burger shop (mcdonald look alike). Guess that would work for us and kids love this kind of food these days.

After lunch, we just do a relaxing walk around and head back to the entrance of zoo to wait for our transport to head back home. Going back to the zoo really brings back some memories to me, since I haven't been there for years. I think I was only 7 years old when i went to the zoo. :)

That's the group photo we took when we are leaving the zoo. Oh yeah, i didn't mention that we went with some parents as well. Taking care of kids is not that easy!! Especially if their running around and they don't really listen to you. hehe, but i guess thats kids. Something for me to learn.

New Office

Finally, a new office. :)
Oh, no no, i didn't get a new job. Just packed a corner of the house I'm staying and moved in as my new office. :P
Can't just always work in my room, best to always have a place like a working environment. Helps to give the 'MOOD' and also the 'ENVIRONMENT' to work. Good for me to separate it cause I usually fall asleep with my Laptop on, and this tends to give me a headache quite often. Must be the rays from my laptop that is giving me that feeling. But seems better now.

"A new environment can give a new feel and new mood..."

Meeting a client

Meeting new people to impress people isn't always that simple. Especially if that person is also meeting other people who is as competitive or even more competitive than you. Sometimes it can be stressful, but its really an eventful meeting and experience for me. Whether i get the job or not, well, as long as I'm in it it learn.

OK, the person i met today is some executive guy of a growing company. They need some site to be up like early this month and now is already mid of the month already. Their target is to finish the site by end of the month, which is really really rush. Especially if they need a creative site with lots of impressive design on it. (Really a challenge for me man)

Lucky for me, I'm not the guy who does the design stuffs, its my partner who does it. I'm like the guy who brings in the work for us to work together on it. But the dead line is so short. Oh, the person i spoke to is some creative guy as well, but not very IT savy. That is also another challenge to explain to someone who is non-IT savy, and impressing him on our creative work.

The meeting went quite ok i guess, now we just have to prepare the mock and quotation to him and we'll see how we take it from there. :P

Risk takers and non-risk takers

I always wonder, if risk takers are better or the non-risk takers is better. Recently I got a friend who just got a new job. Well he was offered a job which he is comfortable in but a lower pay and another job which is something new to him but at a higher pay of about 1000 bucks. Guess which one he took? He took the lower one.

Well, I'm happy that he got a job. That is most important. But when i was giving a thought about it, I just wonder, is it really that save to be in our comfort zone all the while? I mean isn't that more risky? I can't help but to do some check ups and putting some thoughts onto it.

If I were in that kind of situation, I believe i would take the higher paying job. Though its a new technology, but if that technology prosper, I'll prosper too cause I'm already in it and I'll be in demand. But if I'm all the while in my comfort zone of doing the same technology, will i grow further? Will I be able to learn more new things? I mean, no doubt that I can be more specialize in what I do and be even more knowledgeable in my own technology, and probably make even more out of it.

The question then comes back to me again. The risk that you are taking, is depending on the things that we want in life. And depending on which one that we take would give us a higher chance to reach our goal. Thus, that is the risk we need to put into consideration when we are making this kind of challenging DECISION.

Later on, I have a conversation with my friend on what I'm doing now. And he told me that he won't do what i did, to get out of work and try to do something on my own. Something like that is not really an option for him. To him it's more on security that counts. I told him we are both on different worlds! A risk taker (me) and a non-risk taker (him). Guess what? This friend of mine, is one of my closest friend to me. :P

Thats why some times they say, "The opposite attracts".

Choices in Life

Last night I was going through some files on my laptop, and I came across this motivational story:

Jerry is the manager of a restaurant. He is always in a good mood.

When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would always reply:

"If I were any better, I would be twins!"

Many of the waiters at his restaurant quit their jobs when he changed jobs,so they could follow him around from restaurant to restaurant

Why?

Because
Jerry was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was always there, telling him how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him:

"I don't get it! No one can be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, I have two choices today. I can choose to be in a good mood or I can choose to be in a bad mood.

I always choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be victim or I can choose to learn from it. I always choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I always choose the positive side of life."

"But it's not always that easy,” I protested.

"Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk every situation is a choice.

You choose how you react to situations.
You choose how people will affect your mood.
You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.
It's your choice how you live your life."

Several years later, I heard that Jerry accidentally did something you are never supposed to do in the restaurant business. He left the back door of his restaurant open

And then in the morning, he was robbed by three armed men.

While Jerry trying to open the safe box, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him.

Luckily, Jerry was found quickly and rushed to the hospital.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.…

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Want to see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.

"The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied.

"Then, after they shot me, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or could choose to die.
I chose to live."

Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine.

But when they wheeled me into the Emergency Room and I saw the expression on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read
‘He's a dead man’.

I knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything."

'Yes,' to bullets, I replied.

Over their laughter, I told them: “I am choosing to live. Please operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.”

"Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude.

I learned from him that every day you have the choice to either enjoy your life or to hate it.

The only thing that is truly yours - that no one can control or take from you –
is your attitude, so if you can take care of that, everything else in life becomes much easier.

- End -

I still love this story, and I could read it again. It's wonderful how Jerry looks at life in such a positive manner and we all should try to be like him. Like what was mentioned, we all have a choice in life, and all the decision is made by us. So today we either choose to be happy or to be sad is all up to us. Hope you all make the right choice the next day you wake up. :)

Deaf Art Expo-se 2008

Last weekend was quite a tiring weekend. I was involved in an event. It's the first ever DEAF ART EXPOSE in Malaysia, and I'm happy that I was involved in it. Ohh, I've been involved in some deaf work since a few years back, and I think this was one of the most meaningful one that I've been.

The Organization that organized this event is RC Deaf Mission. Founded 2 years ago and the things that they do, really have helped a lot of deaf people. Especially in creating employment opportunity and some side incomes for the deaf. The full information about them can be viewed at here:

What was this event all about?
This event was to support the deaf artist work and also promoting the work that is designed by them. You should see some of their works, their so creative. The most impressive ones are the batik paintings and the colour paintings. Really an eye opener to see their work. :)

The event started on the 1st of August until 3rd of August 2008 in Amcorp Mall. On the first day, a deputy minister actually came to help officiate and launch this event. Each day we have mime acting, teaching sign language, lion dance, video presentation, and on going sales to promote the deaf artist work. I'm so glad to meet a lot of people supporting the deaf cause and this experience to me is truly wonderful. :)
