End of 2008!

Time, sure flies. I think this year flew by tremendously fast for me. Without knowing it, we've already reach the end of the year. Many things happened this year for me and its been really an adventurous journey. Im sure this is the same for all of us.

Well, what I want to say is that, I'm thankful that we are all still around, and glad i've traveled this path. And I hope that it will be a better year in 2009 for all of us as well.

Have a wonderful new year and enjoy yourself. :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

A great dog story

Recently just read this forward email, and it really touched my heart. Thought of just sharing with you guys:

Anyone who has pets will really like this. You'll like it even if you don't and you may even decide you need one!

Mary and her husband Jim had a dog named 'Lucky.' Lucky was a real character. Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy. Inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.

Mary or Jim would go to Lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of Lucky's other favorite toys. Lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box. ;

It hap pened that Mary found out she had breast cancer. Something told her she was going to die of this disease....in fact ,she was just sure it was fatal.

She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders. The night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with Lucky. A thought struck her...what would happen to Lucky? Although the three-year-old dog liked Jim, he was Mary's dog through and through. If I die, Lucky will be abandoned, Mary thought. He won't understand that I didn't want to leave him. The thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death.

The double mastectomy was harder on Mary than her doctors had anticipated and Mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. Jim took Lucky for his evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining and miserable.

Finally the day came for Mary to leave the hospital. When she arrived home , Mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom. Jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap. Lucky stood watching Mary but he didn't come to her when she called. It made Mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed.

When Mary woke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong. She couldn't move her head and her body felt heavy and hot. But panic soon gave way to laughter when Mary realized the problem. She was covered, literally blanketed, with every treasure Lucky owned! While she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life. He had covered her with his love.

Mary forgot about dying. Instead she and Lucky began living again, walking further and further together every day. It's been 12 years now and Mary is still cancer-free. Lucky? He still steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but Mary remains his greatest treasure.

Remember....live every day to the fullest. Each minute is a blessing from God. And never forget....the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards They are the ones that care for us.

If you see someone without a smile today give them one of yours! Live simply. Love seriously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God

Dear God, I pray for the cure of cancer. Amen

All you are asked to do is keep this circulating Even if it's to one more person.
In memory of anyone you know that has been struck down by cancer or is still living with it

Presentation

Today, was quite an interesting day. Went over to Cyberjaya to do a presentation to some bosses. Yes, im trying to sell an idea to work. The name of the project is called 'Adaptiva' corney as it sounds, but i think its a cool name for bad times like this.

The idea is suppose to help Malaysians up and improve their business and also helping them out to market their products. Will let you all know and update you in detail if my project got through.

But presenting to bosses (4 of them) can be STRESSFUL. Well dont know if i get it or not, but i know i did my best. Most important is that, I tried. :)
Lucky did some early preparations for this project, loads of research, documentation, business proposal, sample datas, competitive evaluation and so on. Phew, quite stressful. But finally i finished my presentation today. Yay!

Anyway, anyone out there who have a new idea, dont give up on it, and GROW! TIme for my short break now. Good night. Zzzz....

Knowing my own language...

Well, i know i need to know at least my own language first before i learn other languages. Sigh, but im doing it the other way round.

Last 2 days, I send my friend off to the airport. Not that my friend is leaving for good, but just going off for a holiday. Once we're done, (I was with another friend) we went to get ourselves a drink from some 7-11 look alike store. Its run by indians, and when we make our payment, they guy said the price (RM4.80) in 'Mandarin'.

We're stunned for a moment, and wondering what he said. My friend blurted out saying, "Sorry i dont understand, we're bananas". Lucky i took mandarin(basic) before and realize that is RM4.80. Anyway, we paid him RM4.80 and he said thank you in 'Mandarin' again. Felt abit mocked actually. hehe

But yes, i think its a sign already. I will set that as my goal for next year. Early new year resolution! 'Able to communicate in mandarin by end of 2009'.

I believe its important as whatever race you are, learn at least your own language. Lucky i know cantonese, but thats not enough. Mandaran is very important as well.
Oh boy, a good year of challenge coming ahead. :P wish me luck.

Love and Relationship

Recently, quite a number of my friends have been sharing with me about their love problems, relationship problems, their success in relationships, and etc. It's pretty depressing for me to hear various problems and various stuffs that is happening around.

Anyway, some of the problems are the person in the relationship who loves each other decides to let the person go because the person decides to follow her desire instead of her love. Urgh, so sad to see that situation to happen. Sometimes we need to learn to follow our heart not just follow our intellect. Sure, everyone wants a perfect love, but is that achievable? I call that being NAIVE!

The next problem is that, sometimes we have people with a few relationships. Yes, cheating on your loved ones. Sigh, i don't know how some people can manage it, but to me its pretty sad as well to see the person being like this. A person with too many relationship will only fall into trouble. Thats my thought, but just that this person will truly find his true love and be loyal to iit.

There are some in a relationship that finds it hard to be truthful to their loved ones. I think when you lie to that person, you are lying to yourself. Why must one be limited and controlled by their loved ones. The relationship should be open and they both have their freedom to do what they want. What matters is having the trust and understanding of each other, and not to cheat on each other.

Anyway, thats my story for now. If i ever get into one, i'll tell my part on how things work out. Just hoping for the best for all my friends.

Finally, after 2-3 weeks of hardwork, i have finished a proposal (project) to the government. Man, its alot of documentation, alot of nonsence writing. Feel like doing an assignment in school, just that its in greater scale. Trying to get goverment support recently . Oh well, now its all in the hands of God or the person evaluating our proposal. :P

I've also acquired a new look as well. Not doing any plastic surgery lah. Just wanted to try something out. Thought its time to do something for a change and yeah, finally i've done it.

Friends Wedding

Bride before walking in

I think lately i've been involve in quite a few things. Will update in a bit.
But anyway, one of them that im busy with is my friend's wedding!
:)

I was the designated driver.
Quite interesting, actually the couples are deaf and so all the event that took place is all using sign language. When they declare their love in Church, or the wedding dinner. Really quite an eye opener.

Church wedding group

Oh, and i did a toast with them in Sign Language. You know the Yum Seng Style. Show you guys one day when we meet up.

Wedding dinner night

Cute?

I wonder when is my time. :P
Theres a few more friend's wedding coming next year. Im looking forward for that as well.

doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;

doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

But now faith, hope, and love remain--these three. The greatest of these is love. "

Feeling Sick...

Urgh, being sick is not a good thing.
I have food poisoning over the past few days. Yuck, not a pleasant thing at all.
Guess, i wasnt careful at what i eat and I end up sleeping in the whole day at home.

Well, good thing is i get some good rest i guess. :P
But bad thing is i feel so immobilized.
Oh well, guess you cant have both.

Anyway, during my sick time off, i was thinking abit,
How some people have it all, and some people just cant be please no matter what they get.
Its weird some people have everything, and they feel that its still not enough, some people have so little, and their so happy about their life. Guess its how we all look at things.

Some friends are totally obsessed with girls, some with money, some on greed, and so on. But is this all true happiness for us when we really get it?
Hmm...i dont know, its not me to judge or feel happy for them, but i think there more to it that just the materialistic stuffs in this world. I mean its fine if we reward ourselves sometimes, but dont go overboard on it.

Well, i dont know the answer, guess every individual will have their own, but for me i think what is most important is to fulfill what our purpose is when we are here in this world. And of course we have a choice to decide whether we want to follow that path or not.

Anyway, I'll be going back to bed again, still feeling abit unwell...

Interesting meeting...

Yesterday, i went over to KL Sentral for meeting + training. Its like any normal training and meeting, but the interesting part was that I felt like a glutton. Im surprised that this meeting + training provided by the government actually have morning tea break, lunch and evening tea break.

Wow, all buffet. It's good to have some breaks in between trainings or meetings, i believe this helps to refresh ourselves. Sometimes when we sit in for a training for too long its hard for us to absorb any more information if it drags too long. Especially in the afternoon, its usually one of the most sleepiest time ever...

Usually how i keep myself awake is by asking questions and answering questions. That way when we talk and when people start to focus on us, our mind suddenly wakes up and we don't feel that sleepy anymore when we don't want to be embarrass ourselves. Of course ask relevant question and not asking stupid questions, if not then we will be annoying people instead...

The training and meeting ended up around in the evening before the jam starts and im quite happy about it. The next time anything related with governent meeting or training i think i'll be looking forward for it. :P Yummy yummy...

Going old fashion...

Yesterday, it was my friend's birthday. :P Havent got the photos uploaded yet, but i decide to post up on my gift that i got for my friend. I was thinking hard and was wondering what to really get for him. And after awhile, i thought that i should get him something really old fashioned.

As technology advanced and all and as we all grow older, we all tend to forget that sometimes the old fashioned style present is one of the best presents you could get for someone. And its much more meaningful.

So what did i get him? I got him a BIRTHDAY CARD with meaningful words that is written by me. :P Not that im a cheap guy or something, but i think sometimes its much more meaningful to get something more old fashioned where there is much more meaning and more feeling is put into it when we give it out.

Well, i just hope he liked it and I think sometimes its good to go back once in awhile to get some old fashioned presents. :)

Here and there again...

Been running around a lot lately. Going to Cyberjaya, then to PJ, then back home again. Or either going to KL Central, PJ, then back home. Thats what i've been doing, running around for work. But yeah guess its good to be out from home office once in awhile. Need some change in environment.

What i realize from all these, is that projects after projects that I go for meeting and all, it can actually end up to waste of time. Yeah, its actually quite scary when we are in a project (before client signs). We have to do some research, explain to our client, propose, budget for them. And some how if they think that they want something cheaper and pick another vendor, then its bye bye project. Urgh, quite scary.

One of the scariest meeting or interesting meeting was actually meeting someone from Vancouver, Canada. Have to go all the way to his hotel to meet him. Quite impressive hotel as well. But having to meet someone who comes here all the way to do the presentation for us is actually quite stressful if this doesn't goes through. Heh, and what I'm quite sad is he was asking us what is good in KL,and me and my friend was sort of lost of words. :P (looks like we need to know more good places in KL)

Anyway, keeping this finger crossed. Have to think more positive on things and move on if it really didnt work out.

A trip to PD

Just recently, I went on a family trip for a short one day holiday to Port Dickson. Reason for going, was for my niece. This is her first time going to the beach. :)
We wanted to show her the beauty of the beach and also giving her a feel of the beach. She was excited about playing sand castle since we shared some stories with her and showed some pictures to her as well.

The day arrived when we all leave for PD and when we arrived, the beach was actually pretty abandoned. Guess its a holiday mood, most of the people must have gone back to their home town. This was during the 'Hari Raya Holiday' time. Ahh, not bad, private beach for ourselves. :P

At first my niece was a bit scared of the waves, but slowly she got used to it and she really enjoyed herself playing by the beach. We helped her build a small sand tower / castle.

But anyway, later on, i walked around the beach and i found something beautiful and something ugly....

Here's the natural beauty of the beach...

And here's the ugly part of the beach...

Eww, polluted by man kind. After a short walking only i realize that every step i take, i can see RUBBISH!!!

I think this is losing its name for big tourist attraction from my point of view. But I'll hope for the best.

After awhile of playing and walking, we decide to take our leave and head home to KL. For me its good to be away from all the technology and enjoy the wind and the beach once in awhile. :)

Remember remember...

Holiday have arrived and I'm still not feeling the holiday season at this moment in Malaysia. Well, things didn't go well recently. Yesterday morning i received a sms from my friend informing me that his mum have passed away.

This year itself I have a few close friend's family whom have passed on to another world. This year seems like a sad year actually...but i guess life must still goes on. No matter what happens, I think that the person who have moved on will live forever in our heart and definitely will not be forgotten.

Now, all i can say is that this is not the end of the world, (Wish I could get that message across easier). But I'm sure that our loved one's who have passed on will want us to find our purpose in this life and will want us to always be happy. Definitely for us to continue living on with a life full of purpose and making our loved ones proud and appreciating more of those who are still around.

Well, at the end of the day, no matter what, we must again learn to walk the path of life and realize that we need to choose what we want and how we go about it. I pray for the best and will have positive thoughts for my friends.

Choice and Fate

Recently I got a short debate with my friend about fate and choice. Quite an interesting topic and thus, i decide to blog about it.

Choice:
Choice consists of the mental process of thinking involved with the process of judging the merits of multiple options and selecting one of them for action. Some simple examples include deciding whether to get up in the morning or go back to sleep, or selecting a given route for a journey.
(taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choice)

Fate:
Fate is defined by Destiny, controlled by free will, explained by Karma. Destiny refers to a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the universe.
(taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fate_(disambiguation) & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destiny)

Those are the definition give which i get from the Internet. Now to me, choice and fate (destiny) are closely related in our journey through life. But yes, i totally agree that some things we are fated to be, like our parents, once they give birth to us, we can't re-pick our parents and reborn again, breathing - we can't stop breathing we are fated to be born in this world to breath in order for us to live on then only time we stop breathing is when we die (unless new technology is invented that could supply us oxygen and replace us from breathing), and etc.

But I strongly believe that throughout our journey in life, we are fated to do something in it but at the same time given the choice to accept this fate. Like for example, maybe someone is fated to do missionary for his or her life, but because he could not give up his work of high paying salary, he decides to stick with it until it is too late for him to fulfill his fate. To me, at times sometimes our heart is telling us to do something that could really be out of this world and hard for us to understand. But when we start following it, somehow a path will be shown to you and along the way new guides will be guiding us and finally reaching to our fate.

So its actually a two interlock event. Without us making that CHOICE to follow our FATE, then we won't be able to fulfill our destiny that is planned for us on earth. Sounds contradicting? Well, it isn't when you think about it, aren't human beings granted with the power of choice. And from this choice we will then decide to use to either fulfill our fate and achieving our destiny or either defy everything and do what we all feel like it.

I have a friend who told me that his heart told him to climb Mt Kilamanjaro. Sounds crazy right? But yes, he actually went there, of course he didn't do it overnight, he planned for it and along the way, events are unfolded to him and allowed him the chance to go there. This all happened because he CHOOSE to go and thus FATE takes place and thus allowing him to climb Mt Kilamanjaro. :)

One of the most talented and inspiring person i've ever met....

Recently there is an event that i took part in helping out to promote deaf artist to the public and exposing their talents to the public. Interesting event and it was really a meaningful event for me. What really catches my attention was this lady (as shown above) who is actually deaf and blind!!

What she is doing is that, she is making some paper art work and it takes a lot of feeling and focus to properly do a nice paper art work. As you can see, all the items that are displayed is all made by her. Can you imagine, being deaf and blind at the same time? I don't think I can live my life if i ever became blind or deaf.

How does she communicate? Well, I have to hold her hand, and sign to her. Really a challenging task. Anyway, this lady is actually born deaf, and she was a teacher teaching deaf students. She became blind after giving birth to her second child. It was pretty hard for at first when she was blind, but she didn't give up. She wanted to make herself useful, and she picked up this paper art work, when she is blind. She told me that, when she first became blind, she just kept on crying and crying and crying. But after all the hardship, she decide to smile again, she decide to continue on living, and be happy about her life. And she actually smiled at me, which is a very beautiful smile. Imagine such strength and determination she have. I was really touched about her story.

After talking to her and after telling me her story, it really kept me thinking about how blessed we all are, and how we should appreciate life more. So many people keep complaining about their life that its not fair and there's nothing to live for, well they should think again. There's so many things in life that we should appreciate and we should continue on living it to our fullest, and don't forget to give back to the needy. :)

A blind boy story

I always like innovative story. Keeps us motivated more and helping us to improve further. Check this out:

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognised his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.'
What he had written was:'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Feng Shui

Usually i don't really pay attention to Feng Shui and all the things around me. But I was at Joey Yap's event on Feng Shui at PWTC. Man, you will be surprised that there are so many people around there. Well, though it's not as big as the pc fair event at PWTC or Matta Fair, but it's not too bad for feng shui.

Why am I there? I was there for to open up my eyes and see what Feng Shui can do for me, especially about my life, money, family, health and etc. Yeah, you can say, I was being curious.

At the event, there are a lot of booths promoting about energy, bazi, fortune telling, wealth, property, cleaning stuffs (I dont know why their there), books (all about feng shui and Joey Yap's book), and etc.

Quite a day for me. And I took a Numerology reading, based on my date of birthday. According to them, they can tell our characteristic and our life based on our dates. Heh, don't want to go in detail, but from what the lady say, seems quite true so far about my life, she explained by character and why my luck is like that and how i could improve it. From it I got some sort of 'lucky charm'. Man, sound like i'm going old fashion style already, but yeah, u have to listen and see to actually believe it. Guess this is what you call faith?

Anyway, what is most important, we all keep an open mind and continue to learn new things whatever we do. Sometimes when we move forward so much with technology, we forget that the ancient knowledge is how it got us to where we are today. A blend of this and the new technology should be the era we all should be heading. :D, just my idea.

I also learned that for those who are working, always important to keep your things on your left side, and don't face a wall when you are working. If you are, put some pictures in front of you to improve your feng shui at work. hehe, hope this helps some of you all.

Overall, I'm happy that i went for this feng shui exhibition, I don't mind going again next year. Think there's one in January but its by Lillian Too.

Great gathering!

Recently, I just had a gathering with some of my ex-college friends. Everyone's seems to have grown up and some seem to looked the same. These bunch of guys have been with me for a long time, and I'm so glad to have this gathering.

Anyway, one of our friend is here for a short holiday. He's Indonesian and went over to China to study. Good to know that he's finally seeing someone, (KOREAN girl). Wow, big surprise for alot of us, but i guess when it's time for us to meet the right person, then thats the time for us.

I'm glad to see some of them already working and climbing quite fast in the corporate ladder, and some doing their own business as well. Everyone's growing man!! Soon, one of these gathering will be for a wedding? I've yet to receive one from my college, but I'm sure next year I'll get at least one. :P

The dinner was great, we had our dinner at Yuen restaurant in Sunway. All you can eat is always fun, and we took our time to eat for the steamboat. This gathering was also to celebrate 2 birthdays along. Took them by surprise!! Yes, finally. :) (usually, birthday guys always know their surprises, maybe we didnt plan it well before)

(I would have taken the honey chicken photo, but I was too busy eating the honey chicken when I finally got my hands on it)

OK, foods great at Yuen, but the honey chicken wings seems to be always the hardest to eat. My main purpose was to eat the CHICKEN WINGS. But every time the waiter / waitress puts the chicken wings on the buffet table, EVERYONE rushes to take the chicken. And it's gone in 30 - 60 seconds. Wow, talk about hungry humans!! Lucky for me, we sat there and took our time. About 9.30 - 10pm only I was able to grab some chickens!! Yes, when a lot of people have gone home for dinner, then I can come in to grab the chicken wings. :D

After a long night of catching up, we all have to take our leave as, the next day, a lot of us have to work still. Sigh, when you're having fun, time seems to pass by so fast. It's a great memorable night for me.

Focus and Obstacles

Life is always full of distraction and obstacles. You do this, something comes to distract you. You try other things, people try to discourage you again. That's why they say when we do something new or something out of our comfort zone, things around us will try to get us to go back to our normal ways. It's really what I see that is going on around. However, only those that can really overcome this distraction and the negative environment can we actually take another step forward to a new dimension.

Ok, what I'm saying might not make sense, but a good example is this:
1. Lets say we try to change our daily habit to wake up early. If we don't do it on a consistent basis, we can end up sleeping late again when we are not consistent. Or when we start listening to our little devil (tempting us to sleep and go another day).

2. We try something new like something out of this world. People around us sees us as abnormal and try to get us back to their real WORLD by advising us to stop, and giving all the negative reason.

3. Or someone wants to be a professional GAMER,but in our parents eyes, that's a no life career and wants us to go back to some NORMAL work.

So, you see, all the things we actually try to do, there is obstacles. Only by FOCUSING on our targets and not giving up and overcoming the obstacles will bring us one step ahead. :)

Heart Attacks and drinking warm water....

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks. This makes sense.. the
Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals...not cold water...maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!!

Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks: You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

Facing rejection...

Facing rejection can be a bit hard at time. But it does happen no matter where we are and what we do. We will some how face this kind of rejection and we must not forget to learn from it. No no, this rejection that i faced recently wasn't from any girl, but its from a client.

Well, I was suppose to do a presentation to my client to try to 'Win' the project, if they like our idea. But apparently to my client, we got back to them a bit slow, and they have to move faster. Thus, they have to pick someone already and he told us to stop working on the mock work. When he said "Sorry, we already decide on who we are giving the project to. Thanks anyway", this feeling really felt like seeing Donald Trump telling me 'You're fired'. Well, things already happened, time wasted on mocks and guess we just hv to move on then.

I must say, that it was a good experience working with 'stylish clients' who wants a certain kind of creativity added to their products. And being creative isn't my number 1 skill. :P
Oh well, this is something i must learn, when i speak to other person, i must speak their language in order to properly convince them and be able to be intune with their thoughts so that things can go smoothly. But I'm glad I get this experience.
Back to working harder and meeting more people!! Think positive!!

4 Things You Never Knew Your Handphone Could Do

Recently, i come across an interesting article on my email. Seems quite useful.
Enjoy...

4 THINGS YOU PROBABLY NEVER KNEW YOUR MOBILE PHONE COULD DO
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

FIRST: Emergency

The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND Have you locked your keys in the car?

Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to
drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a mobile phone!'

THIRD Hidden Battery Power

Imagine your mobile battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your mobile will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next time.

FOURTH How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone! : * # 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

Appointment after another appointment

Ok, time is really valuable. But it's not a good idea if you try to overuse it. I tried to make good use of it by putting 3 appointments together (back to back) in one day. Sigh, not a very wise choice....

First appointment was at PJ. Go there during the rush hour jam about 6pm, and got stucked in jam. Sigh, bad planning on that. Was late for it and guess what? the next appointment I was late as well. With the 2nd appointment late, my 3rd appointment was late as well. Argh big blunder. 2nd appointment was at Menara TM, rush there from PJ taking the federal highway. And my final appointment was at DU. PJ to Bangsar and back to PJ again.

In future, i must remind myself never to pack all my appointments in one day. Oh well, lucky all the people I meet is quite forgiving, (Well they look ok).

Being Sick...

Ok, over the pass few days, i was actually feeling abit sick. Argh, i don't like the feeling of being sick. All I could do was sleep and eat and sleep again. Feel so lousy about it.

Oh well, guess its fine if I'm better now. But, it struck me abit, if i'm sick for the whole year, then how? Shit, can't do anything for the whole year? Can be quite scary if you're really sick. Well, i leave that thought to you all. But i was stubborn to take panadol while having fever. But i gave in as my condition didn't improve and I felt worst.

Sigh, I know panadol is bad for me as i read it before this medicine stays in my system for a VERY LONG TIME. urgh, well i'm desperate to recover faster, and thus, i took it. Anyone have any suggestion in future if im feeling sick again with Fever and headache?

Well, I'm glad i was feeling much better after that, but wish I had a different solution then. hmm...something for me to ponder about....

A trip to Zoo Negara

Last Thursday was quite a fun day for me. Went to the ZOO NEGARA! Yay, well the thought that came to my mind was the KFC song that i used to hear when I was little. 'Lets go to the zoo la la la' :P thats all i could remember for the music lyrics.

The purpose of this trip is to take some deaf kids from YMCA to the Zoo. It's about to start their school holiday and thus, we're taking them out to have some fun. We arrived at the zoo at about 10am. It took us about 1 hour to drive to Zoo Negara! Wow i didn't know it was that long to drive there.

The first thing we did was going on this long transporter for us all to ride all around the zoo so we could get a first grasp of the whole place before we start walking around. On this day too, we saw a lot of kids from other kindergarten visiting the zoo as well. There's about 3-4 groups from different kindergarten visiting the zoo today. Quite pack!!

Next thing we did was going for the animal show, but I didn't manage to take much picture cause I was busy interpreting a bit. Good time for me to practice my signing.
After the show, we head for lunch, and I was thinking of having KFC! Lol too bad we didn't see any KFC around, just some burger shop (mcdonald look alike). Guess that would work for us and kids love this kind of food these days.

After lunch, we just do a relaxing walk around and head back to the entrance of zoo to wait for our transport to head back home. Going back to the zoo really brings back some memories to me, since I haven't been there for years. I think I was only 7 years old when i went to the zoo. :)

That's the group photo we took when we are leaving the zoo. Oh yeah, i didn't mention that we went with some parents as well. Taking care of kids is not that easy!! Especially if their running around and they don't really listen to you. hehe, but i guess thats kids. Something for me to learn.

New Office

Finally, a new office. :)
Oh, no no, i didn't get a new job. Just packed a corner of the house I'm staying and moved in as my new office. :P
Can't just always work in my room, best to always have a place like a working environment. Helps to give the 'MOOD' and also the 'ENVIRONMENT' to work. Good for me to separate it cause I usually fall asleep with my Laptop on, and this tends to give me a headache quite often. Must be the rays from my laptop that is giving me that feeling. But seems better now.

"A new environment can give a new feel and new mood..."

Meeting a client

Meeting new people to impress people isn't always that simple. Especially if that person is also meeting other people who is as competitive or even more competitive than you. Sometimes it can be stressful, but its really an eventful meeting and experience for me. Whether i get the job or not, well, as long as I'm in it it learn.

OK, the person i met today is some executive guy of a growing company. They need some site to be up like early this month and now is already mid of the month already. Their target is to finish the site by end of the month, which is really really rush. Especially if they need a creative site with lots of impressive design on it. (Really a challenge for me man)

Lucky for me, I'm not the guy who does the design stuffs, its my partner who does it. I'm like the guy who brings in the work for us to work together on it. But the dead line is so short. Oh, the person i spoke to is some creative guy as well, but not very IT savy. That is also another challenge to explain to someone who is non-IT savy, and impressing him on our creative work.

The meeting went quite ok i guess, now we just have to prepare the mock and quotation to him and we'll see how we take it from there. :P

Risk takers and non-risk takers

I always wonder, if risk takers are better or the non-risk takers is better. Recently I got a friend who just got a new job. Well he was offered a job which he is comfortable in but a lower pay and another job which is something new to him but at a higher pay of about 1000 bucks. Guess which one he took? He took the lower one.

Well, I'm happy that he got a job. That is most important. But when i was giving a thought about it, I just wonder, is it really that save to be in our comfort zone all the while? I mean isn't that more risky? I can't help but to do some check ups and putting some thoughts onto it.

If I were in that kind of situation, I believe i would take the higher paying job. Though its a new technology, but if that technology prosper, I'll prosper too cause I'm already in it and I'll be in demand. But if I'm all the while in my comfort zone of doing the same technology, will i grow further? Will I be able to learn more new things? I mean, no doubt that I can be more specialize in what I do and be even more knowledgeable in my own technology, and probably make even more out of it.

The question then comes back to me again. The risk that you are taking, is depending on the things that we want in life. And depending on which one that we take would give us a higher chance to reach our goal. Thus, that is the risk we need to put into consideration when we are making this kind of challenging DECISION.

Later on, I have a conversation with my friend on what I'm doing now. And he told me that he won't do what i did, to get out of work and try to do something on my own. Something like that is not really an option for him. To him it's more on security that counts. I told him we are both on different worlds! A risk taker (me) and a non-risk taker (him). Guess what? This friend of mine, is one of my closest friend to me. :P

Thats why some times they say, "The opposite attracts".

Choices in Life

Last night I was going through some files on my laptop, and I came across this motivational story:

Jerry is the manager of a restaurant. He is always in a good mood.

When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would always reply:

"If I were any better, I would be twins!"

Many of the waiters at his restaurant quit their jobs when he changed jobs,so they could follow him around from restaurant to restaurant

Why?

Because
Jerry was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was always there, telling him how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him:

"I don't get it! No one can be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, I have two choices today. I can choose to be in a good mood or I can choose to be in a bad mood.

I always choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be victim or I can choose to learn from it. I always choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I always choose the positive side of life."

"But it's not always that easy,” I protested.

"Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk every situation is a choice.

You choose how you react to situations.
You choose how people will affect your mood.
You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.
It's your choice how you live your life."

Several years later, I heard that Jerry accidentally did something you are never supposed to do in the restaurant business. He left the back door of his restaurant open

And then in the morning, he was robbed by three armed men.

While Jerry trying to open the safe box, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him.

Luckily, Jerry was found quickly and rushed to the hospital.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.…

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Want to see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.

"The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied.

"Then, after they shot me, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or could choose to die.
I chose to live."

Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine.

But when they wheeled me into the Emergency Room and I saw the expression on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read
‘He's a dead man’.

I knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything."

'Yes,' to bullets, I replied.

Over their laughter, I told them: “I am choosing to live. Please operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.”

"Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude.

I learned from him that every day you have the choice to either enjoy your life or to hate it.

The only thing that is truly yours - that no one can control or take from you –
is your attitude, so if you can take care of that, everything else in life becomes much easier.

- End -

I still love this story, and I could read it again. It's wonderful how Jerry looks at life in such a positive manner and we all should try to be like him. Like what was mentioned, we all have a choice in life, and all the decision is made by us. So today we either choose to be happy or to be sad is all up to us. Hope you all make the right choice the next day you wake up. :)

Deaf Art Expo-se 2008

Last weekend was quite a tiring weekend. I was involved in an event. It's the first ever DEAF ART EXPOSE in Malaysia, and I'm happy that I was involved in it. Ohh, I've been involved in some deaf work since a few years back, and I think this was one of the most meaningful one that I've been.

The Organization that organized this event is RC Deaf Mission. Founded 2 years ago and the things that they do, really have helped a lot of deaf people. Especially in creating employment opportunity and some side incomes for the deaf. The full information about them can be viewed at here:

What was this event all about?
This event was to support the deaf artist work and also promoting the work that is designed by them. You should see some of their works, their so creative. The most impressive ones are the batik paintings and the colour paintings. Really an eye opener to see their work. :)

The event started on the 1st of August until 3rd of August 2008 in Amcorp Mall. On the first day, a deputy minister actually came to help officiate and launch this event. Each day we have mime acting, teaching sign language, lion dance, video presentation, and on going sales to promote the deaf artist work. I'm so glad to meet a lot of people supporting the deaf cause and this experience to me is truly wonderful. :)

A short story...

Recently someone told me this story, and I find it very meaningful, so I thought of sharing it out and see what you all think about it:

There was this king, a very powerful king. But one day, he was thinking, how to get himself motivated if he lost everything. He was thinking how can i be motivated if I lost EVERYTHING.

So he held a meeting with his ministers and asked for their opinion, and one of them suggested to him to find a WISE monk in the forest. So the king organized his trip and it took him 1 week to finish his preparations.

When he arrived at the place there he found out that the monk just passed away. Feeling frustrated that he didn't get his answer, he started blaming his ministers for taking so long for his departure and prepared to leave.

But before he leave, the monk's deciple, who is 10 years old came to him and asked him, "King King, please don't leave yet, why did you come to see my master for? Please share with me and I might be able to help you out.".

The king thought about it, and decide to give this boy a chance to answer him, so he shared with him what he is looking for and asked if the boy knows the answer.

The boy thought for awhile, and replied the king, "Well this is indeed a tough question, but before my master died, he left me a small cube with a note inside it, and ask me to open it only if I am really in trouble. I guess this will be able to answer you".

The boy gave the small little cube to the king with a small note inside it. The king agreed that he will only open it when he is really in trouble and kept it around his neck.

Years passed, and the King's kingdom got conquered. He lost everything and he was running away alone. While he was running, he fell and dropped into a pool of mud. Then he remembered the small little cube he have with him. He told himself "What could be worst that this situation now, I've lost everything. I think this is the time for me to open this message".

When he opens it up, the message says this: "This will pass"
Feeling true to the meaning of this message, he went to his neighbour country and organized a new army to take back his kingdom. He was truly victorious and gained back what he have lost.

After his victory, he threw a big party to celebrate for 30 days and 30 nights. During his celebration, one young monk rushed to him and called for him. "King! King! do you remember me, the small monk that you met about 10 years ago?".

The king immediately remembered him and personally came to greet him and thanked him for the message. He said if not because of him, he would have given up hope.

The monk said, "Oh i came to give you another message, i forgot to mention this to you when we first met. This message is also meant for you when you are in best moments".
Realizing it, the king ordered the celebration to stop and for the rest of his life, he lived a balanced life and being satisfied throughout his life.

What is the moral of this story?
In life, there will be great moments and there will be bad moments. But all will pass and life will still go on. Thus always remember, don't be over happy when you are UP there, and don't be over sad when you are DOWN there. Just live on and you'll be just fine.

Back home again

Last week was a very tiring week. Had to go to my client's place to do some work. Really reminds me of employment. But yeah , guess I have to do this freelance for awhile until things are more stable for me. Well, it's only 1 week and I'm glad I made it through.

Other than a busy week, my weekend was quite tiring as well. My relatives from US is down here in Ipoh, and that's where I went last weekend. Really love Ipoh, good price, good food (ouch, I should not be eating a lot), and lots to catch up with my relative.

And in my aunts house in Ipoh, wow, for the first time I saw the biggest winter melon that I ever seen in my life. Its a 8kg winter melon! If it's mine, I might use it to take part in a competition. :P

I spend most of my time sleeping while we are traveling to Ipoh and back to KL. Had a late night the night before, guess now I know why i always dont recognize roads.

After I'm back home now from all my work and tiring weekend, I have a friend who recently just broke off. Well, to him it seems like its the end of the world. Urgh, please wake up and don't just think thats the only thing left to do in life. Well, he called me up earlier and told me something STUPID that he wants to do. Sorry, can't mention it now, but what he is going to do, can really destroy him. Sigh, I just wish him the best.

Alright, time to get back to my own work now!

Procrastinating

Recently I read this article about Procrastination. Pretty interesting, check it out:

What are you procrastinating?

"The greatest amount of wasted time is the time not getting started."

-- Dawson Trotman

Procrastination seriously drains our energy and our morale. What remains undone nags at us.

What are you avoiding? Make a list of items and then review each one. Does it really need to be done? After you've reviewed your list, prioritize it and start one task today.

Please do not procrastinate taking one minute to write down your answer to this question. Capture it on paper and this will help build awareness, commitment and discipline.

"How soon not now, becomes never."

-- Martin Luther

"Talk does not cook rice."

-- Chinese proverb

"Do you know what happens when you give a procrastinator a good idea? Nothing!"

Time for a change

Ok, something really hit me hard today. Well not physically, but something that I didnt realize that I should have done ages ago!!
Argh!

Anyway, I went out for dinner with a friend today. She's suppose to pass me some book on lingzhi. Some health stuffs, which I wanted to find out further. I picked her up and we were discussing on where to go. Finally we decided to eat Nasi Lemak at Paramou (Fantastic Nasi Lemak there).

Then she told me that I was bad influence to her after our dinner. And I asked why? Since she liked the food and we all had a good time eating. Then she told me that this is very high cholesterol. And she gave me some long talk about living healthy and etc etc etc....

Well, I know that I've been ignoring this, but today it hit me right on the head. When we talked about my family history and all, she told me that I'm under very high risk factor because my dad have heart blockage, my mum have high cholesterol, my grand father pass away because of a heart attack, and my eldest brother have high cholesterol. She was practically shocked that I'm not taking care of myself.

I only realize it after she told me that and I really need to do something it. I mean it shows already that it's all in my family and if I don't do something about it, I think i'll migrate to another world at a very age. Scared I AM, but I hope I'm not too late.

Starting tomorrow, I'll start off by cutting all the fatty foods, fried chickens (I love most) and sweet drinks. Urgh, giving up good food is hard, but this is something I have to try to go through now.

Thats why they say, "You are what you eat", and that is so true.

Wish me luck.

Working together can be productive

Today I went over to my partner's place to do some work. He is a freelance writer and since I'm into Internet Marketing, and I'm not good in writing, thus we decide to work together and help each other out. Which Is cool. :)

What I realize from our partnership and the time i spent working today together with him, I realize that people can be more productive when you are working together with someone. We help each other to be more focused, and we agreed to meet up at least twice a week in order to make sure we are going in the right direction.

Sometimes, it's really pain in the ass when we are alone and it's so easy to get off course, plus when you're with someone, you don't feel that sleepy at all. Which is good for me. :P. (Usually i get very sleepy in the afternoon and I'm always half asleep at that time) *Ashamed*

Alright, time to work, today we're suppose to finish off one of our project by today. Hope it'll be done soon.

Holiday to Genting...

Last weekend i went to Genting for a short nice break. Ahhh...going for a short holiday is always great to refresh yourself. :)
Well, what did I do in Genting? Well, all I wanted was to relax, and not to get stressed up. Lucky I didn't meet up with any "THINGS" in the hotel room. Next time i go Genting, i'll go back to Highland Hotel again.

What did I do there? I went for the indoor park (non-scary rides), motion master, Ripley believe it or not?, window shopping around Genting, and some place to eat. Eating there is really EXPENSIVE. MCD's breakfast can cost you about RM13++ for the normal breakfast set.

Yupz, I'm proud of it, I didn't go to the Gambling Den. :D, well I was thinking about it, but then i decided not to go. Lucky for me, that I didn't drive up there, just follow my friend's car and go up all the way to Genting. On our way back, the trip was pretty misty and spooky.

But overall, I really feel more refreshed and relaxed about it. Sometimes, we gotta recharge our battery in order to be more productive in future. :)

The art of believing and following our dreams....

Believing and following our dreams have always been within us when we are young. We tend to dream to become someone, and wanting to achieve that dreams of ours as well. I remember when I was young,I always wanted to be a programmer, because of father. He was good in computers and he picked it up himself. Thus from young I was already influenced to computer stuffs already. Well as I grew older, I liked it because of the GAMES. :P Thus it attracted me even more to be a programmer. Later on, was chats via the Internet and again I was hooked onto the computer.

Thus in Uni, I end up studying IT and have my desire to be a programmer. Good thing was that I like programming at that time. Well at the age of 22, I achieved this dream of mine to be a programmer. Yay!! And I lived happily ever after...

YEAH RIGHT! If only it was that simple. I realize that being a programmer isn't what i really wanted. Oh dear, after all the years of growing up thinking to be this person, I actually didnt like the job. I didn't like the environment, I didn't like doing it, urgh, the thought of it just gives me the goose bumps. Guess, I like more freedom and working for someone else, sort of closes up all my freedom.

Thats when I realize that I need to change my thoughts, my thinking and my desire. My ultimate goal now is to have a stable Internet Business that is generating profit :)
. When we believe in it, and plant our seed of desire / hope / ambition and if we keep thinking about it, one day, as we work towards it I'm sure it will come to us. Just that make sure that what we really want is the one we desire the most and put all hope and faith in it.

Now I'm like starting all over again. Educating myself the basics of business, trying my best to meet new people to get business contacts, working on ideas, working on my products, and finding partners, and etc. Phew, starting from ground work again can be hard work, but I appreciate this experience.

Most people along the way to their dreams or goals, they face with obstacles and opportunity. Most fail because they can't get through the obstacles or take the obstacles as a WALL but not as experience to help them out in their later challenges. Ok lah, gtg now, just wanted to share this thoughts out and hope you all will achieve your dreams and goals as well. :)

To your success!
